Spirit of Musical Africa
The final studio work of Babatunde Olatunji

MansMark Africa is proud to announce a very special upcoming release
featuring the final studio work of legendary world music icon Babatunde Olatunji.
“Spirit of Musical Africa” is a posthumous tribute album to our beloved Baba that
will consist of duets and collaborations between Baba and a diverse group of
distinguished musical luminaries. “Spirit of Musical Africa” is set for release in the
early part of 2007 and will feature Babatunde Olatunji’s original contributions in
duet with several renowned guest artists and poets. Grammy Award-winning
international stars Angelique Kidjo and Youssor Ndour have already contributed
tracks to the project, which also includes remakes of “Odunde De” (“Festival Time”)
and the seminal “Jin-Go-Lo-Ba” (originally released as part of Baba’s landmark
1959 Columbia Records debut, “Drums of Passion”). MansMark Africa is currently
in negotiations to secure a dream team of guest contributors including Miles Davis,
Hugh Masekela, Miriam Makeba, Wyclef Jean and others.
